Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (AP) — Actor Julian Sands, who was hiking in the mountains of Southern California where he disappeared for five days, authorities said Wednesday. Multiple Oscar-nominated films, including A Room with a View.
Sands, 65, was reported missing Friday on a trail in Mount Baldy, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta said.
Search and rescue crews were looking for the sand in the San Gabriel Mountains area about 40 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, but ground searches had to be suspended Saturday because of trail conditions and avalanche risk and have not been able to resume since, Huerta said.
