Actor and producer Alec Baldwin has been criminally charged in connection with the fatal shooting on the set of the 2021 film “Rusty,” the Santa Fe County District Attorney’s Office in New Mexico told CNN on Tuesday.
The charges against Baldwin and set designer Hannah Guiterrez Reed include two counts of manslaughter, the district attorney’s office said. Lawyers for both defendants have previously maintained their respective clients are innocent.
District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altweis told CNN earlier this month that she will charge Baldwin and the film’s armorer with involuntary manslaughter, alleging that they failed to perform the duties that would have prevented the resulting filming of the film.
