BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) _ Aspen Technology, Inc. (AZPN ) reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $66.2 million on Wednesday, compared with a profit a year earlier.
The Bedford, Mass.-based company said it lost $1.02 a share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 35 cents a share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.27 a share.
The software maker also missed Wall Street expectations when it posted revenue of $242.8 million for the period. Three analysts polled by Zacks expected $272.1 million.
Aspen Technology expects full-year EPS between $6.83 and $7.43 on revenue between $1.14 billion and $1.2 billion.
Shares of Aspen Technology are down more than 5% since the start of the year. Shares hit $194.27 in the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, up 36% over the past 12 months.
