President Joe Biden said Thursday he has “no regrets” about not disclosing earlier that classified documents were found in his private office last November.
“We are fully cooperating and look forward to resolving this issue as quickly as possible,” Biden said after comments on California’s ongoing recovery efforts after recent storms. “I think you’ll find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers told me they wanted me to do — that’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s nothing there, there’s nothing there.”
Before answering the question, the president also expressed frustration over the questions that have followed him since it was revealed that classified documents were found first in his private office and then at his Wilmington, Delaware, residence.
“You know, what bothers me, frankly, is that we’re talking about a serious problem here,” Biden said, referring to the damage caused by the storm. “We’re talking about what’s going on, and the American people don’t quite understand why you don’t ask me about it. But having said that, what’s your problem?”
