What if the bloodthirsty marauders you ever thought you knew were just misunderstood explorers, farmers, and skilled traders?
Beginning Saturday, February 11th and running through Monday, September 24th, the Carnegie Science Center will host “Vikings: Warriors of the North Sea.” Visitors will gain insight into Nordic culture, traditions and beliefs.
The exhibit features more than 140 artifacts, some of which have never been seen before in the United States, including jewelry, keys, weapons, silver, clothing, full-size replicas of pirate ships, and more. These recent archaeological discoveries shed new light on the Viking Age, dispelling long-standing myths about its people, traditions and influence.
