Miles Foster led the Hawks (1-17, 0-5) with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Jack Collins had 10 points and 3 steals for Monmouth. Andrew Ball also had eight points and two steals. The Eagles extended their losing streak to nine.
Towson took the lead with 18:27 left in the first half and didn’t give up. The score was 37-24 at halftime, with Thompson scoring nine points. Towson mounted an 8-0 second-half run that extended a 13-point lead to 21. They led Monmouth by seven points in the first half, and Conway led by a team-high nine in the second half.
Towson’s next game is at home against Hofstra on Monday, while Monmouth hosts Charleston (SC) on Thursday.
