NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Jalen Cook’s 22 points helped Tulane University beat SMU 74-52 on Wednesday night.
Cook also had six rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Green Waves (14-7, 7-3 in the US Athletic Conference). Sion James made 4 of 7 shots and 4 of 6 free throws, scoring 13 points. Jaylen Forbes made 5 of 11 shots, including 1 of 5 shots from beyond the three-point line and scored 12 points.
Zach Nutall led the scoring for the Broncos (8-15, 3-7), finishing with 23 points. Zhruic Phelps added seven points for SMU. Efe Odigie also had six points and six rebounds.
Duran took the lead with 6:53 left in the first half and didn’t give up.

The two teams play next Saturday. Tulane visits Memphis, while SMU visits East Carolina.
