Justice Department filed lawsuit Tuesday against Alphabet Inc.’s Google added more allegations of anticompetitive behavior to the growing antitrust action against the Google-dominated tech industry, amazon, Apple and meta platform company
Lawmakers have accused the companies of acting as “gatekeepers,” using their structural advantages in the online economy to disadvantage competitors and stifle innovation. The four companies are facing or have been the target of 15 antitrust investigations or complaints from federal and state law enforcement agencies that challenge fundamental parts of their business models and, in some cases, seek to unwind key acquisitions.
