The Greater Akron-Canton High School Athletic Awards presented by Akron Children’s Hospital are proud to announce the nominees for Girls Soccer Player of the Year. The winner will be announced during a live performance at the Akron Civic Theater on June 22. The show, which combines three previous stand-alone shows (Akron, Canton and Portage counties), was produced with Major’s support.
During the live performance, these nominees will be honored along with Athletes of the Year in 26 other sports. Thanks to sponsors, nominated athletes can RSVPing to receive a free ticket to the event. Additional tickets can be purchased on the show website.
The Greater Akron-Canton High School Sports Awards ceremony is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. Last year’s show is still available online at this link. This year, a school in the district will win a $1,000 donation to its school athletic department. More details coming soon.
