Several recent letters criticizing Rep. Moffett’s It’s My Turn (12/22/22) challenge the Democrats’ adoption of identity politics. These letters seek to justify identity politics, a political perspective that is destructive and divides our country.in his book crowd madness Douglas Murray identifies the destructive nature of identity politics as an attempt to break down Western society along the lines of gender, sex, and race.in his recent book western warMurray notes that identity politics force “the West to be something else or lose all legitimacy”.
At the same time, Democrats allowed communist China to enslave and discriminate against minorities. I believe America treats people of color better than any other country in the world because America adopted the advice of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his speech “Where Do We Go From Here?” “A person is judged by the content of his character, not the color of his skin,” King said. Another concern in the letter is that the U.S. needs to do more to comply with scientific concerns about climate change. In 2006, Al Gore reported that the carbon footprint of the United States in 2005 was 30%. 15% between now and 2022. Of the two largest economies, the US has the lowest carbon footprint (China’s footprint is 28%). John Kerry has publicly stated, with half-truths and half-truths, that the US cannot solve the climate problem if it gets its carbon footprint down to zero.
