Isla Fisher is devastated by the death of her father, Brian.
The “Nocturnal Animals” actress, 46, announced the news on her Instagram page on Sunday (January 22, 2023), questioning how people can continue to live with someone who “can’t live without you” .
Next to a photo of her father, Isla said: “How do you live without someone you can’t live without?
“How lucky I am to have a father like you. You are hilarious, positive, and my best friend. No matter what happens in my life, you always ask me if I am having a good time.
“I know this pain is going to get worse as the days between the last time I saw you get longer, it’s horrific.
“I really love you. Thank you for being the greatest dad ever.”
Isla was born in Muscat, Oman, to Elspeth Reid and Scottish Brian Fisher.
At the time, her father was working as a United Nations banker in Oman, and Ella and her family returned to their hometown of Bathgate, Scotland, before moving to Perth, Western Australia, when she was six years old.
The actress, who has four brothers, said she had a “beautiful” childhood in Perth with a “very outdoorsy” lifestyle.
Famous friends of the actress expressed sympathy for her father’s death in the comments section of her Instagram post, including actress Naomi Watts, 54.
She said: “Sorry Ella. This is heartbreaking news. I know how close you are. Sending love.”
Actress Gal Gadot, 37, added: Oy Islush… I’m really sorry. I believe you made him proud. Send a big hug. “
Model Helena Christensen, 54, added: “Dearest friend, I’m so sorry you’ve lost your wonderful dad. He sounds like the best dad I know This must hurt. Sending so much love.”
Ella, who has three children with her comedian husband Sacha Baron Cohen, 51, posted a tribute to her father on Instagram last year.
Next to a black-and-white photo of her father, she said: “This is my dad, Poppa Fish.
“I love him, he’s the greatest and I’m so grateful to have him in my life.”
