Hi, I’m Brainerd Dispatch. I started a few days before Christmas 1881 and became a daily newspaper two years later. I’ve gone through a lot of changes over the years, but what never changes is my commitment to my community and local journalism. I have an entire dedicated team who work around the clock to make sure I get out every morning, whether it’s print, electronic, app or other information on www.brainerddispatch.com. News, weather, sports — videos, photos, podcasts and social media — all cover Central Minnesota’s stories about your neighbors, your lakes, your communities, your challenges and opportunities. It’s part of an effort to keep people connected and informed. We couldn’t do it without support.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under the guise of “staff.” Typically, “staff” bylines are used when rewriting basic newsletters originating from official sources, such as city press releases about road closures, and require little or no reporting. This byline is sometimes used when a news story has many authors or is formed by aggregating news previously reported from various sources. If external sources were used, they will be noted in the story.
