Another fan wrote: “For two weeks, the first 5 minutes of The Last of Us were absolutely terrifying. What an intense show. And it’s from someone who played video games.”
The show is currently in two episodes, and the opening scenes of each proved particularly gruesome, with the scientists discussing the possibility in flashbacks that the fungus had taken root before it actually happened.
One viewer tweeted: “Both ‘The Last of Us’ snubs are by far the scariest, most disturbing shows ever. Awesome.”
Those who played the video game also shared their impressions of the adaptation.
