This is fun work! The Long Island Ducks, a member of the Atlantic Major League Baseball (MLB Partner League), are currently searching for an experienced, talented and creative leader for their promotion department. If you know how to have fun and love helping others have fun too, this could be your calling! Successful candidates should be dependable, able to multitask and work in a dynamic environment. Depending on business needs, the position may require long and unusual hours of work at night, weekends and holidays at various times of the year.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Oversees all aspects of “The Show”. Acting is what happens between innings (when we’re not playing baseball). This includes on-field publicity, game day scripts, publicist management and more. In short, this position oversees the department that entertains our fanbase nightly.
- Fulfillment of sponsorship aspects involving promotions and events.
- Oversees all aspects of community outreach and engagement such as children’s clinics, mascots/players, appearances, donations, etc.
- Actively participate in sponsorship and ticket sales teams during the offseason.
- As a contributor to the creative team. This includes taking ideas from concept to implementation with the goal of driving engagement with fans, reach, interest and fun for the team.
Require:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong time management skills.
- Previous “production room” experience (PA, music, scoreboard videos, etc.) and graphic design skills/background are a plus – able to create and coordinate everything from ad copy to sponsored decks, social media graphics and/or sales flyers any content of .
- Work experience in professional sports (promotional experience is preferred).
- Experience in sponsorship/ticket sales and familiarity with the Long Island market is a plus.
- Graphic design, computer programming and video editing skills.
- Capable of being creative, passionate, professional and unbelievably fun!
