Whitehall, W.Va. (WBOY) — Marion Neighborhood Hospital nurses have received Mon Health’s biennial Outstanding Nurses Award.
RN Anne Wallace was recently honored with the DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence, according to a Mon Health news release issued Monday. Wallace has been with Marion Neighborhood Hospital since it opened in 2021 and works in the emergency department.
A family member of one of Anne’s patients wrote in a nomination letter:
“This is the best we’ve ever had; my son was cold, sick and scared at two. She comforted him, gave him coloring books, stickers and crayons. She made him feel better.”

“I am surprised, honored and humbled to be the recipient of the DAISY Award because it seems like such a small act of kindness and caring,” Wallace said in a Mon Health news release.
“Annie is so deserving of this award, she really connects with her patients and treats them like her family,” said Carla Hamner, Hospital Administrator at Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital.
