Orange County, Va. (WVIR) – Orange County is getting some new free health services now that legislation is on the way to President Biden’s desk.
Rep. Abigail Spanberger is making sure Central Virginia is a healthy community by 2023. More than $250,000 in funds will be used to provide essential health services in the county.
“It’s going to be done within this clinic in Orange County, providing support and care to members of the community, but also ensuring the fact that, you know, the essential experience for people in the Germanna care plan or their health care plan,” said Rep. Spanberg said.
The representative said the money came from the Community Projects Grant Program, a federal grant that will provide new equipment to the Robert C. O’Neill Health Clinic.
“We worked directly with Germana Community College, and they identified their real need for this health center project,” Spanberger said.
The plan, she said, is to make new voters in her re-election District 7 aware of the opportunities.
“Looking at what existing grant fund programs we can draw from, we can apply for, and work to make sure we’re again giving back investments that really matter to our communities,” Spanberger said.
