A popular national co-ed apparel retailer is setting up shop on Main Street.
Madewell, which has more than 150 locations — including its store on Charleston’s iconic King Street — will open a location on the corner of Main and East North streets in downtown Greenville.
According to Beth Brotherton, Greenville’s director of communications and engagement, a Madewell spokesperson said the new location’s expected opening date is set for this month or February.
The key to a vibrant downtown is diversity, Brotherton said, and the city is fortunate to have stores that appeal to a diverse range of customers.
“Whenever we do a new renovation of a building, we see great value in it, but it’s exciting to have a well-known national retailer fill the space,” Brotherton said. “Madewell is a J.Crew owned Clothing retailer. There are currently several womenswear boutiques on Main Street. Some boutiques are considered chains, but others are local business owners. The popularity of national brands attracts customers who may never have shopped at our local store. city center.”
The city center also has popular menswear boutiques, including A Polished Man, Rush Wilson, A. Smith Clothiers and Cahaly’s, as well as children’s stores such as OP Taylor, a toy store and Fun Soda and candy store, Brotherton added. Rocket Fizz. There are even boutiques in the city center offering a good selection of quality homewares and furniture.
Bacon Construction Co. is renovating a 3,200-square-foot space adjacent to The Booty Shop.
