Girls in grades 3 through 10 participated in a variety of sports Saturday at the Flickinger Center at Erie Community College. They participate in everything from soccer to golf, flag football and even yoga.
Organizers say physical activity helps children’s mental health and boosts their confidence.
“ECC students who are involved in the physical education program are being paired with each student-athlete. These are female mentors. We’ve found that if you have a strong mentor in your life, it can have a positive impact on your mental health,” Caro Lynn BestSelf’s Valone Bell says.
All students who attended Saturday’s event took part in BestSelf’s Building a Better Future programme.
