Pamela Anderson’s new Netflix documentary is proving to be a hit with viewers, but it’s also sparking a backlash against the recent hit “Pam & Tommy.”
The 2022 Hulu series starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan follows Anderson’s marriage to Tommy Lee and the story of a sex tape stolen from their home and leaked to the world.

But viewers of “Pamela, a Love Story,” which saw the former Baywatch star tell her story in her own words, called the show “exploitative” and “dark.”
Anderson recently spoke about the show in an interview with Variety, calling it “salt in the wound” and calling the producers “jerks.”
She added: “To me it looked like just another Halloween costume. Everyone dressed up as … there have been a lot of Halloween costumes over the last decade.”
Fans of her Netflix documentary seem to agree, with one tweeting: “Just watched, one of Pamela’s love stories. I instinctively know not to watch that HULU series because it’s clearly exploiting her trauma. Watch it After this documentary, I just feel like we need to respect and care about women more as a society.”

Others were even harsher in their criticism, with one tweeting: “I literally can’t sleep at night if I’m in the pam and tommy series.”
Others lashed out at Pam and Tommy, saying: “I’ve always been disgusted by Pam and Tommy’s gourd show, but now watching Pamela’s documentary and seeing how emotional it was for her and her family, I sincerely hope that everyone involved in the show is burned in hell forever.”

Viewers raved about the documentary, admitting they were surprised by the star.
One person tweeted: “Watched the Pamela Anderson documentary last night – highly recommended. I’m ashamed to admit my preconceptions based on OTT imagery, but she’s smart, self-deprecating and utterly likable .was horribly exploited but still stood tall.”
