As part of a new initiative, the van will be staffed with community health workers who will help with health issues such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, COVID-19, and more. PHHS staff will provide health assessments and provide referrals to programs to meet individual health needs, according to a release.
“We’re going to do a health assessment of people in the community,” said Jennifer Clark-Williams, director of community health workers, to see how they’re doing and make any referrals to the community that they might need. referrals, and just feel like cheerleaders help them stay on track with their health goals. “
The health department will share the van’s location on its Facebook page.
Clark-Williams says if you want an assessment, you don’t need an appointment.
