A man is in custody on suspicion of killing a co-worker at a Hollywood establishment Wednesday morning, officials said.
Officials responded to a marine engine business in the 2900 block of SW 42nd Avenue after a man notified him of the killing in “self-defense.”
Police located the victim at the scene and pronounced him dead. His identity has not been released.
More than an hour later, deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office detained a man in the 200 block of Rock Road in Deerfield Beach. Officials have not released his identity.
Authorities called it an isolated incident and said the two had been in contact, but provided few other details. Police declined to describe how the killing occurred, but stressed it did not involve a firearm.
“This is an isolated incident between two individuals who know each other and work together,” said Hollywood Police spokesman Christian Latta. “The Hollywood Police Department does not believe there is any danger to public safety at this time.”
Investigation into the incident continues.
