Columbia, Missouri (KMIZ)
Columbia Parks and Recreation held a public meeting to solicit input on the Columbia Coliseum expansion, according to a news release from the city Wednesday.
The meeting will be held at the Fieldhouse, 4251 Philips Farm Road, Tuesday, February 7th, 5-7pm.
The expansion of the facility includes four additional hardwood courts, restrooms, office space, meeting rooms and common areas, according to a release. Columbia Coliseum opened in 2019 to meet the community’s need for a multi-use indoor sports facility. Submissions are also being accepted online.
Beginning in 2021, the Fieldhouse expansion will be funded from the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau tourism development fund, general fund reserves, private donations and voter-approved park sales taxes.
