I’m back to look at more niche (non-income) campaigns going on this winter. They may not be as eye-catching as a hoops or football recruit, but these boys and girls are going to take a risk for Boilermakers every time they hit the pool, tennis court, track, or mat. If you’re both in town, these are great activities to help educate your kids. Tickets are cheap, popcorn and dogs are reasonably priced, and the action is exciting.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Next up for the Boilermakers will be a home game against Indiana on Saturday, January 21 at 10:00 am at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center and will be televised on BTN+.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
Almost always, both teams will host each team from a school; Indiana travels to West Lafayette for a 10:00 a.m. EST start, but for girls’ swimming and diving, the day Classed as a senior game day.
men’s tennis
The Boilermakers men’s tennis team started their season yesterday with a 5-2 loss to Dayton in West Lafayette. After a 0-3 start, the backhand Boiler tried to comeback, but the Flyers’ lead proved insurmountable.
Their next game is also at home, Friday, January 20 at 4:00 p.m. EST when the Boilers host Cleveland State. The Vikings haven’t played a game yet, but they will travel to Columbus to play Ohio State at noon on the 19th before heading to the Schwartz Tennis Center. For those who live in the city, admission is free!
women’s tennis
The women’s tennis team got off to a strong start with wins over Memphis 4-3 and Chicago State 4-0.
They will host two games against Cincinnati this week at 10:00AM EST on the 21st and noon on the 22nd.They will take a long break before hosting their next game against DePaul on Feb. 3 at 1:00 p.m.
track and field
Purdue will hold a conference in Michigan on Saturday, January 21, and times for all events have not yet been announced.
The Boilermakers won four games at the Midwest Wisconsin Invitational in Chicago on Saturday. Four Boilers set college records for top-10 finishes in their respective events.
wrestling
Purdue Wrestling is currently 4-5 (0-2 Big 10) approaching their Friday, January 20 meeting with Wisconsin in Madison. In tournaments, they finished 1st at the Clarion Open, 12th at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and 9th at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
They began their long run against Big 10 opponents, losing to No. 2 perennial powerhouse Iowa State and No. 25 Illinois State. After the Badgers, the Boilermakers will meet Minnesota at 2:00 p.m. ET Sunday on their home court (the mat?) before taking a week off to host Indiana.
All will be aired on BTN+.
looking to the future

The competition will be held from February 12th to February 14th. The Boilermakers are the hosts for this contest.
