Milpitas, California –(Business Wire)–SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. (“SolarEdge”) (NASDAQ: SEDG), a global leader in smart energy technologies, today announced that its products have met new dynamic export requirements as part of the South Australian Government’s Stabilization Energy Part of the plan features a grid of sophisticated remote cloud-controlled technology. SolarEdge is the first vendor to certify to SA Power Network and offer this native dynamic export service.
Dynamic export requirements require all new solar systems to allow network operators to remotely update grid export limits for solar systems to help maintain grid stability. From July 2023, SolarEdge’s residential and small commercial systems in South Australia will be able to cope with network constraints by dynamically controlling solar output to the grid as part of Distributed Energy’s “Smart Home Initiative”. The benefit to SolarEdge system owners is that they will be able to export up to six times more energy to the grid during most of the year compared to non-compliant sites, which will be limited to small 1.5kW stationary output power limitation.
SolarEdge’s smart inverters do this without the added complexity and additional cost of third-party controllers.
SolarEdge CEO Zvi Landosaid: “Australia was an early adopter of renewable energy technologies with challenging and complex grid requirements. We are proud to be part of this milestone pioneered by SA Power Networks and we are excited to help network operators tackle congestion issues to further increase solar adoption.”
SolarEdge’s full range of residential and commercial solar inverters are on the Australian Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved supplier list.
