Five-time Grammy winner Steven Curtis Chapman said: “I have been fortunate to have the support and support of wonderful people throughout my career in this I couldn’t have wished for a better team around me this season.” and recipient of the BMI Icon Award.
one:eight entertainment is helmed by industry veteran Greg Ham. During his distinguished career, Ham served as the former President/CEO of ForeFront Records and most recently as a partner at MWS Group, representing Michael W. Smith, CeCe Winans and Olympian Scott Hamilton, among others. Ham and his team at one:eight entertainment will continue to represent these clients, along with award-winning producer/director Robert Deaton and artist/worship leader Charity Gale.
Chapman added: “Greg is a long-standing friend of mine who brings years of wealth of wisdom and unparalleled knowledge and experience, while Alex has been part of my management team for the past few years and brings great enthusiasm and Vitality. The entire team is world class and I am honored and excited to work with them!” Chapman was previously managed by The Stable Collective after 28 years with Creative Trust.
“We are delighted that Steven has entrusted the management of this season to one:8,” shared Greg Ham. “It has been an honor to call him a friend over the years, and we’re excited to see what this partnership will lead to.”
The news comes on the heels of Chapman’s latest project, Still, now available from Provident Entertainment/Sony Music. In his new song, Chapman is openly willing to shine a light on his pain and struggle, as well as his faith, joy, redemption and hope. He said, “After much wrangling, I eventually had to rule out questions about what felt or sounded relevant, or how my new music would fit into the current landscape of Christian music. I had to quiet those voices in my head, Sit down and play my guitar and give myself permission to just write down whatever is on my mind and let it come out in any way.”
The album’s first radio single, “Don’t Lose Heart,” was inspired by Chapman’s own journey through the dark valley of grief and loss that he and his family experienced. Its hopeful yet unabashed honesty and authenticity quickly connected with listeners and sent the song to the radio charts, currently at No. 9 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart.
Eager to share new songs live, Chapman will embark on his 24-city “Still Tour” this spring. Kicking off March 2 in Springfield, Missouri, be sure to check out the updated tour schedule here.
