She has four WNBA titles, was a 13-time All-Star, and was named to the All-WNBA First Team five times and the Second Team three times. In addition, Bird was named to the WNBA’s 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th anniversary squads.
Bird has retweeted a few posts about her jersey retirement, but she has yet to speak publicly about the honor.
The Storm Legend began her career in 2002, when she was the No. 1 pick in that year’s draft. She played four years of college at UConn, helping them win two national championships. Additionally, Bird is a three-time recipient of the Nancy Lieberman Award, given to the top college point guards in the nation.
