LEXINGTON (now 25 news) – McLean County Sheriff’s Police are asking the public for help in identifying a masked man who broke into a store in Lexington early Friday, the same man they believe has been involved since 2018 He has been involved in five other thefts at the same location since mid-February 2009. True Value Hardware in the 400 block of West Walnut Street in Lexington was targeted again earlier Friday, police said. Police posted five photos of the man on the department’s Facebook page.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately six feet tall with a medium build. Police say he was wearing a dark hooded jacket, black stocking cap, bright yellow full face mask, gray or black gloves, dark jeans with torn or frayed legs and black sneakers or slip-ons White sole. Police believe his jeans and shoes may have helped identify him.
In addition to the burglary on Friday morning, police said the suspect also committed other burglaries at the same store on Nov. 12, Nov. 21, Dec. 7, Dec. 25 and Jan. 4.
