In the past two years, Edith Facco Capturing the audience’s attention with items like monk and Avatar: The Way of Water. But people may remember her best performance as the matriarch Carmella Soprano on the hit HBO show The Sopranos. While some celebs love to take a trip down memory lane, Actresses aren’t too keen on reliving moments from the show.
In an interview in October 2021 new yorker, Edie opened up about her attempt to go back and watch older episodes of the series that made her famous in her early years. But as she told the publication, she had a hard time getting into it for one personal reason.She struggles to see her TV husband, the late actor Tony Soprano, on screen James Gandolfini.
“I tried. It was so frustrating. Of course it was to meet Jim,” she told the outlet. “We’re all so young, and with the attention we’re getting, we’re all like fawns in the headlights.”

When the press prompted her what it was like to work with the Emmy winner (who died of a heart attack in June 2013) for six seasons, Edie recalled fond memories of him. She explained that not only do the two connect in their upbringing, but they’re also kindred spirits in how they approach acting.
“We all work in very similar ways and backgrounds, very specific,” she told the magazine. “We were just normal middle-class, suburban kids who were never supposed to be famous actors. My interpretation is that all the while, he was like, ‘What the hell happened?’ … Like when you Seeing two kids play in a sandbox and completely immerse themselves in their imaginary world. That’s what it’s like to play opposite Jim.”
