Wedding Expo

If you’re engaged, hoping to get engaged or just want to dream about your wedding, this weekend’s Wedding and Event Expo at Century II might offer some entertainment. The event, scheduled for Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday noon-5pm in the convention hall, will feature wedding vendors specializing in formal attire, catering, music, hair and makeup, photography and more. Friday 8 p.m., The Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg
Red Dirt country singer Wade Bowen returns to Wichita this weekend for a concert at The Cotillion. Bowen, a native of Texan, will perform on Friday nights at 8pm. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the opening act is the band Tequila Ridge from Wichita. $20 on thecotillion.com
art that touches the heart

The 11th annual Art That Touches Your Heart exhibition recently opened at the Urban Art Center in Old Town and aims to inspire African American art students. Now in its third year at City Arts, the exhibition features work by black artists from across the United States, including John Allen, Frank Sowell, Verlene Mahomes and more. The exhibition will be on view in the main gallery until 26 February. The First Friday Opening Reception is scheduled for February 3rd from 5-8pm. Free admission.
rodeo in town
Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m., Hartman Arena, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive, Park City
The rodeo is coming to Park City with the PRCA Championship Rodeo taking place Friday and Saturday at the Hartman Arena. The rodeo will feature competitors from across the United States to the Wrangler National Finals in Las Vegas. Doors open at 6:30 pm on both nights, with events starting at 7:30 pm, and tickets are $25-$45 for adults and $10-$45 for children ages 2-12. Children under 2 years of age are admitted for free. Family Art Adventure
Saturdays, 11am-3pm, Wichita Art Museum, 1400 Museum Drive.
On Saturday, the Wichita Art Museum is hosting a family art adventure called Escape Meets You. The event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will allow visitors to get up close and personal with Flatland Ranch’s alpacas and watch spinners turn wool into yarn. Visitors can also join straw artists to learn how to turn wheat into works of art. Free admission.
murder mystery
Saturday, 6 p.m., Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 Museum Mile.
Through March, the Old Cowtown Museum is running a monthly series of murder mysteries, the first of which happens this weekend. The interactive show, “Murder at the Deadwood Salon,” begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, including dinner. There will also be a cash bar. $40 per person, participants must be 21 or older.
