A week of severe winter weather caused the Dome, a popular indoor sports facility in Topsham, to collapse on Thursday morning in Coastal Maine.
The owners shared the news in a Facebook post.
“Our old dome collapsed early this morning due to snow and rain,” dome officials wrote in a Facebook post. “Sorry, this appears to be irreparable. Things are being assessed now. For any groups scheduled at the dome, please contact me later to process a refund.”
Inflatable Sports Training Facility rents out baseball, lacrosse, field hockey, football and more so teams can practice in all seasons.
In 2020, program director Brendon Augustine founded the Coastal Maine Storm, a traveling baseball league. A year later, Storm took over the lease of what was then known as The Dome in Topsham.
Customers were saddened by the news but expressed their support on social media, refusing any form of refund.
“Terrible news. You can keep my money for all the joy, commitment and time you give the kids. I appreciate you and the program you provided,” Ben Dauphinee wrote.
A message left to the dome owner was not immediately returned Thursday morning.
