QUINCEY, Ill. (WGEM) – The Quincy Blue Devils (17-2) returned to practice Tuesday in preparation for their upcoming Big 6 Western Conference game against (16-4) Union Towns. The game will mark the second of the season for the two division rivals. The first QHS game of the season against the Panthers in East Moline is Dec. 2. The Blue Devils won that game 62-50, which may be a fact that the Panthers coaching staff reminded the team of the week until 7:00 p.m. Retaliation time Revenge factor will be a strong motivator for UT, but Quincy head coach Andy Douglas and his staff will be more than ready for the Blue Devils.
WGEM Sports-Cam interviewed second-year guard Dominic Klay and coach Douglas during practice earlier today. Douglas overtime with a scouting report on what the Blue Devils can expect to see from UT after their team bus rolls into the Gem City on Friday night. Clay, meanwhile, shared some insights on the lessons the Blue Devils learned last weekend when they held off a three-point win over Lincoln High School, but they hope to avoid that on Friday.
