Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is the rare combination of incredible basketball skill and talent, as well as genuine humility and appreciation for fans. This endeared him to fans from all walks of life, including legendary wrestler Chris Jericho.
The two superstars met recently, which is a kind of enjoyment for both parties. Jericho later shared his excitement on Instagram: “Happy cheers for the Bucks and my brother Giannis Antetokounmpo today!”
When wrestling icon meets basketball superstar
Even though Antetokounmpo didn’t have the right clothes for his match against the Miami Heat, Jericho still had a great time with the Greek Freak, who he didn’t know before, and who is also Jericho’s longtime WCW and WWE stint fan.
“He told me he grew up in Greece and put his brothers inside the walls of Jericho,” Jericho said that in addition to being the star of the wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling, he also happens to be the lead singer of the rock band Fozzy.
“The Walls of Jericho,” the wrestler’s signature move, is a variation of the over-the-shoulder surrender.
Jericho’s son also went home happy because he got a beautiful souvenir from his meeting with Antetokounmpo. The Greek freak gifted Jericho’s son a signed Giannis basketball jersey, which he proudly displayed on Instagram alongside a photo of the two superstars chatting together.
wrestling fans
Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have shown on multiple occasions that they are big fans of wrestling. Giannis even appeared on AEW at the 2021 UW-Milwaukee Panthers Arena and was presented with his own belt by the event’s founder, Tony Khan.
